The syntax is extended from normal search engines for simplicity and adds metadata and more SQL like functionality.
| "string" | Phrase match, or close to phrase matching |
| [%][key:]token | Free text words that add to relevance (or regexp: tok* or *ken)
Token may consist of many tokens like: "FBI murder" Optional [key:] for metadata search ex: title:"FBI security" Optional [%] forces all words within "" required for adding pages |
| +[=][%][key:]token | "require" - must include word (ex: +author:"Jonas Bosson")
Optional [=] makes 'AND previous' Optional [%] match any of words included within "", normaly all have to match Optional [key:] for metadata search |
| -[%][key:]token | result pages must not include word (ex: -cows)
Optional [%] forces all words within "..." to be required Optional [key:] for metadata search |
| @domain | Search domain (ex @http://www.illuminet.se/corpus) |
| &feature | must include feature/attribute (ex: "&form" for only form pages) |
| !feature | must exclude feature/attribute (ex: !java to remove pages with javain them) |
